This tool was developed by the Department of Interpretation and Translation at the University of Bologna.
It lets you convert media files to other formats using FFmpeg.WASM, a WebAssembly version of FFmpeg.
Everything happens in your browser — no files are uploaded to any server — so you can use it freely and privately.
Keep in mind, though, that performance isn’t on par with the native FFmpeg (which is roughly 10× faster), so this tool is mainly useful for converting audio/video files to audio formats. For heavier tasks, consider applications like HandBrake (or convert yourself into a geek, and learn how to use FFmpeg directly from the command line).
